Mr. Alexey Kuzmin is a specialist in support of private equity investments and corporate law. Before entering Salomon Partners in July 2009, Mr. Kuzmin worked as an in-house lawyer of Baring Vostok Capital Partners, one of the largest private equity foreign funds in Russia, for 5 years. Before that Mr. Kuzmin worked as an associate at CMS Francis Lefebvre. In 2002 Mr. Alexey Kuzmin graduated from the faculty of law at Moscow State University. He speaks fluent English and French.
Mr. Alexey Kuzmin personally took part in development and documenting the scheme of private equity investments in the following companies, operating in Russia:
- investments in a large Russian leasing company;
- investments in a company in Russia providing PLC technology Internet access services;
- investments in a company in Russia providing Internet access services and cell telephone communications;
- investments in a company providing medical care services;
- investments in the second largest out-of-home advertisment operator in Russia and Ukraine;
- investments in a large Russian manufacturer of thermo-panels and other construction materials;
- investments in a Russian alimentary retail trading network;
- investments in a large Russian manufacturer of cement and clinker;
- investments in a Russian financial company specialized in payment and billing systems;
- investments in oil-extracting companies;
- investments in a special project connected with the development of commercial real estate;
- investments in a Russian company holding leading positions on the Russian construction equipment market;
- investments in a company involved in the food processing industry.
Mr. Alexey Kuzmin's legal experience in the sector of private equity investments includes:
- legal due diligence of the potential investee companies;
- preparation and forming up transactions with the shares of the project companies;
- consulting on the issues of Russian and foreign law correlation and ensuring compliance of the investment transactions with the Russian Legislation;
- participation in preparing the documentation for the Federal Antimonopoly Service filing and Central Bank filing;
- managing legal outsourcing, determining areas which need involvment of external counsel, defining scope of work;
- creating new companies in Russia and abroad for investment projects;
- general legal support and coordination of the legal work on evaluating the perspective of private equity investments in the companies operating on the territory of Russia and CIS.
