Mr. Levinsky co-heads the firms’ corporate M&A and TMT practices with particular emphasize on real estate, natural resources, telecom and media companies. Before becoming one of the founding members of Salomon Partners, Mr. Levinsky worked as a senior attorney in a prominent Russian law firm Monastyrsky, Zyuba, Stepanov & Partners. Mr. Levinsky graduated from the faculty of law at St. Petersburg State University and is a fluent English speaker.

The major projects on which Mr. Levinsky has worked recently include:

  • Corporate Law:
    • Performing legal due diligence on an independent gas company and providing legal consultation for a large Russian gas company concerning its acquisition;
    • Acquisition of a leading Russian pharmaceutical manufacturer by German investors, including legal support for corporate decisions made after the transaction (cf. buy-out of minority shareholders, consolidation of affiliated companies, etc.);
    • Providing legal support for the acquisition of group of companies publishing telephone directories in Moscow and Saint Petersburg;
    • Performing legal due diligence on several agricultural enterprises of an international agricultural holding;
    • Acquisition of a group of factories producing baby food;
    • Providing legal council and subsequent legal support for the acquisition of several timber industry companies;
    • Providing legal council and subsequent legal support for the acquisition of a leading the bank in the Novosibirsk region;
    • Restructuring a foreign direct investment fund specializing in the oil and gas industries in Russia and CIS countries;
    • Developing a plan and legal mechanism for the corporate restructuring of a holding owning real estate objects in Moscow, the Moscow area and other Russian regions;
    • Integration of several aviation enterprises and their assets into a single organizational and legal entity;
    • Defending the minority shareholder interests of a foreign investment fund in a Russian oil company.
  • Project and Debt Financing:
    • Structuring of lease financing transactions;
    • Preparation and legal support of a project for granting allocated credit to a leading home appliance sales and production group in the Russian Far East and performing legal due diligence on these companies.
  • Real Estate:
    • Developing a legal mechanism for the attraction of investments into construction utilizing a real estate private equity fund;
    • Investments into one of the first Russian designated industrial zones.
